FS17 bietet eine Plattform für kreative Nachhaltigkeit und Teilhabe; mit Räumen im Erdgeschoss des Mehrparteien-Hauses und mit digitaler Infrastruktur zum Austausch und zum Zusammenarbeiten, offen für Nachbarschaft, Kreative und lokale Akteur*innen.
Außerdem dient die Kreativwerkstatt zur Anbahnung und Sichtbarkeit von Innovationsprojekten. Das ansässige Designlabor unterstützt mit Anschub, Mentoring und Koordination für spannende Vorhaben, vom kleinen Kunstexperiment bis zum EU-Projekt für Materialforschung. Dabei liegt der Schwerpunkt auf Cross-Innovation, Projekten über Branchengrenzen hinweg unter Einbezug der Kreativwirtschaft für Nachhaltigkeit und Bauwende.
Teil des Reallabor-Konzeptes ist die Vermittlung von Erfahrungen. Vor Ort finden Ausstellungen, Tagungen und Konferenzen zu wechselnden Themen statt. Anschauung gibt es während und mit der Entwicklung durch Kernsanierung des kompletten Gebäudes für Fachpublikum und neugierige Menschen aus dem Viertel gleichermaßen. Für niedrigschwellige Begegnung ist die Lage in der Fußgängerzone besonders dankbar.
FS17 is a platform for creative sustainability and social equity. Space at the ground floor of the object in Benrath and digital infrastructure is open for neighbours, creatives and local stakeholders to work on innovation.
The public workspace provides a foundation for visibility and exploration of innovation projects. The in-house design lab supports creative initiatives with base funding, mentoring and coordination, from small local art projects to EU wide research consortiums. The available expertise and focus will facilitate work on cross-innovation projects that connect across different industries for sustainability in design and for all ideas that enable the energy transition in the building sector.
Part of our mission is sharing know-how. Exhibitions, seminars and conferences make learnings in different areas tangible to the public. The ongoing refurbishment of the whole house provides ample hands-on opportunity for professionals and interested neighbors. The exposed visibility to visitors passing through the pedestrian zone should lower the barriers to connecting with innovative ideas about sustainability.
